SRF Summer Camp Daily Activities
45 minute group lesson
Kids will be grouped with other students at their level. After lessons we will have lunch.
Swimming
Every day we swim in our farm's pool. EVERYONE NEEDS TO PASS A SWIM TEST! We are not certified lifeguards, but one of our counselors is an EMT and all counselors know how to swim and keep close eyes on kids at all times.
Arts and Crafts
On one day we do arts and crafts after our morning rides. Our most memorable art and craft project we do is a picture frame. The children take a picture with their favorite horse and design a picture frame of their choice. One year we made shirts and lucky horseshoes.
Trail Ride
We enjoy a nice trail ride through the property's beautiful trails.
Kid's Choice
On the last day, each child can decide what they want to do, be it learning, swimming, games, a 25 min private lesson, or another trail ride. The kids love the games played on the last day!
What to Bring
Attire
Kids will need breeches/jeans/non-slip pants during riding sessions. Shoes for riding must be ½ inch heel boots that cover the ankle if you don’t own paddock boots.
Students can bring a change of clothes and swimsuit for after lessons. Pease remember flip flops for around pool. In the barn they will be required to wear boots for safety reasons.
Necessities
Bring snacks, lunch, beverages, sunscreen, and bug spray.
Rules
Students must listen to their instructors from the time they arrive until the time they leave. Even if a student knows about a subject that we are covering they are to listen and ask questions if need be. There might be something they don’t know that we cover in the week. We want everyone to have fun and enjoy, but each child has to listen to the rules of the horses and the rules of each other’s personal space! We accommodate each child needs and interests. We want everyone to learn and have fun doing it!
