What to expect from a lesson
Lessons may consist of in saddle work, groundwork, and horse care.
Show up 30 minutes early to groom and tack up. If you don't know how to groom or tack up yet, don't worry! That will be part of your lesson.
Plan to stay after your lesson ends to untack and groom your horse, reward them with a cookie (or two!), and wipe down your tack.
Riding Attire
Breeches/jeans/non-slip pants (Yoga pants are slippery!)
Paddock boots (½ inch heel boots that cover the ankle.)
Helmet (We've got you covered if you need to borrow one of ours!)
Riding gloves are helpful, but optional.
Bring an extra layer to stay warm and comfortable.
Safety
Keep the barn as clean and safe as possible. If you see something out of place, speak up or tidy up!
Always wear close-toed shoes in and around the barn.
All horses must be led with a lead and halter.
Horses spook. Always shout "Door!" when you are about to walk by any doorway at the barn. If a horse is inside, it'll let them know you're there.
If you don't know, ask!
